During World War 2, less than a decade after cultivation was prohibited, the War Department produced a short film titled Hemp for Victory! that encouraged America's farmers to plant hemp as their contibution to defeating the Nazis. "Hemp for mooring ships; hemp for tow lines; hemp for tackle and gear; hemp for countless naval uses both on ship and shore ... Hemp for Victory!" the film concludes, after a lovely recap of the history of hemp extolling the many virtues of the plant for the war effort.
Thank you High Times.
