SPEAKING OF ROACHES

SPEAKING OF ROACHES
La cucaracha, la cucaracha --- Ya no puede caminar --- Porque no tiene, porque le falta --- Marihuana pa fumar.
The cockroach, the cockroach -- Can't travel now -- Because it doesn't have, it's lacking --- Marijuana to smoke.
-Mexican folk song

Thank you High Times for the tips.

STONER SONGS: KAYA (1978)

STONER SONGS: "KAYA" (1978)
Bob Marley sang about his love and respect for ganja proudly and often, on tracks ranging from "Three Little Birds," a mellow song about a trio of feathered friends who would gather outside his doorstep to eat the seeds discarded from his morning spliff, to the frustration and defiance of "Three O' Clock in the Morning (Roadblock)," about having to toss away his "little herb stalk" when faced with a random police traffic stop.
The Rastafarians, kaya means enlightenment, and is often used as slang for marijuana. On the title track from his 1978 album, Marley extols the virtues of having a "wake and bake" on a rainy morning.
