Hash Bash

Today hashish is obtained by scraping resin from flower heads, but in nineteenth-century Asia, it was gathered in much wackier ways. In India, men clad in leather dresses would run through marijuana fields, knocking into the plants as much as possible so resin would stick to the dresses. It was then scraped off and formed into balls.

HASH FOR CONNOISSEURS

The best hashish is a black, brown, or blond color, depending on the strain of pot used and the method of extraction. Hash with a green tint contains large amounts of plant matter, which dilutes its potency and flavor. Hash that's gone stale will become brittle and lost its fragrance.

A TALE OF TWO GANJAS

By the time humans discovered how to get high, cannabis had already seperated into two easily distinguishable lines, with sativas growing wild in almost all equatorial regions of the globe, and indicas thriving in Southern Asia and the Indian subcontinent. In each case, the plants were eventually discovered, recognized, cultivated, and bred for their desired characteristics --sativas for straight smoking, and indicas for making hashish and kif.
