SKILL OF THE MONTH: Traveling With Weed

Go incognito. The Grateful Dead have millions of fans and have played music live before more people than anyone else in history. They will survive without your bumber sticker, and you will stand a far better chance of surviving a routine traffic stop without that Steal Your Face above your license plate.

Thank you High Times for the words.

High Times All Stars: Orlando Cepeda

The original OC was baseball's rookie of the year in 1958 and the league's first unanimous MVP award winner in 1967. The son of Puerto Rico's most famous baseball player, Cepeda was a hard hitting first baseman who put up Hall of Fame numbers, but was initially denied entry to those hallowed halls because of one tiny mistake: in 1975 he was arrested in the Miami airport after attempting to pick up a shipment containing 160 pounds of Puerto Rican pot.

Cepeda, who started smoking in the late '60s to treat the pain from ten knee operations, served almost a year in prison.

OLD-SCHOOL HASH MAKING

Old School Hash Making

Traditional hash making includes several methods of extraction that produce varying grades of end product. In the oldest practice, a collector simply walks through the still-budding fields of cannabis, rubbing the plants by hand and rolling the resin (or charas) that collects into balls. After harvesting and drying, the same buds can later be shaken over screens, beaten against carpets, and pushed through sieves of varying size to filter out the rest of the trichomes from the surrounding plant matter.

HIGH SOCIETY

- High Society with Dave Chappelle -

"When I think about the people I have smoked pot with, they're such an eclectic mix of people, and I probably never would have spoken to a lot of them if it weren't for pot. Alcohol doesn't bring people together like that."

Quote from High Times interview with Dave Chappelle.
