SKILL OF THE MONTH: HEADIQUETTE

Minding your marijuana manners may sound like a joke, but it's no laughing matter when some clown joins your circle and sucks down half the joint before it gets around once, or, even worse, offers to "chip in a couple of dollars" if only you'll roll another one. Remember, when somebody smokes you up, friend or stranger, they're sharing something both illegal and expensive, not to mention medicinal and spiritual, so treat them and the offering with respect. It also never hurts to say thank you. And, naturally remember to return the favor next time circumstances allow.

Basically, most headiquette boils down to respecting both the herb and your fellow herbalists. Don't talk about weed in public and don't light up unless everyone you're with feels comfortable. Don't show up just before a session and leave right after, unless that's the plan. Don't get the munchies and eat all your cousin's leftover macaroni and cheese, unless she's/he's cool with it.

Thank you High Times.
